The following pages are filled with the stories about my Ancestry. Stories about how they endured the hardships of the life and times of the early pioneers and how they were able to survive and still keep our family together.

"All of my life", he said, "I have  searched for the treasure. I have  sought it in the high places and in the narrow. I have sought it in deep jungles and at the ends of rivers and in dark caverns-- and yet have not found it.

"Instead, at the end of every trail I have found you awaiting me. And  now you have become familiar to me, though I cannot say I know you well. Who are you?"

And the stranger answered: "Thyself."

                                       ----from an old tale

During the past few years I have patiently been searching for information pertaining to my family History.

It is such a sad state of affairs that us living now actually know so little of those that came before us. Of those whose genes we carry and have shaped our character and will shape the characters of future generations to come but whom we know so little about their lives. Of those whom we so yearn to  have known.

I have been searching through family documents , libraries and other archives in an attempt to put this all together. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated. Vanasse Family, Minor family, Dupont Family, Desormeaux family from Maskinonge, Maniwaki, Mattawa and Trois Rivers regions of Quebec and Ontario Canada
These web page documents are a compilation of my interpretation of our family history. There is still much research required to put the whole story together and any help from my relatives would be much appreciated as it has been more than 400 years since our family first reached the shores of Quebec, Canada. Please read on and enjoy!

Background Music:
What a Wonderful World by : Louie Armstrong

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world

Oh yeah
